Mandatory Daily Tariff

The government gives more importance to the welfare of its people and care for the environment. Thus, the tourism policy is "High Value, Low Impact" and the government has set a mandatory minimum daily tariff , preventing it from being overwhelmed by mass tourism. 35% of the mandatory tariff directly goes to the government and is used for free education, free healthcare and for sustainability fund to preserve the nature.

Daily Tariff - High Tourist Season

US $250 per person per night

Months of March, April, May, Sept, Oct, Nov

Daily Tariff - Other Tourist Season

US $200 per person per night

Months of Jan, Feb, June, July, Aug, Dec

  • Bhutan Visa Fee: US $40 per person.
  • Tourism Development Fee: US $10 per person.
  • Individual (FIT) Surcharge will be applicable for a group size of less than 3 person: US $40 per night for a single person group, US $30 per person per night for a 2 person group. The surcharge will not be applicable to a group size of 3 person or more.

Tariff Exception

There shall be no charge for Childern up to the age of 5 years. However,those between the ages of 6 - 12 years accompanied by eldes/ guardians shall be given 50% discount on daily rates.

Full time Students below the age of 25 years holding valid identity cards from their academic institutions shall also be given a 25% discount on daily rates

A discount of 50% on daily rates shall be given to on person is a group of 11 to 15 people. 100% discount shall be given to one member in a group exceeding 16 persons.


The luxury packages are based on 5 star international chain hotels (Aman Kora, Uma, Zhiwaling, Le Meridien and Taj Tashi) with extra charges in addition to the Mandatory Daily Tariff of USD $250/person/night.
